UPDATE: A man who allegedly fled the scene of a crash and was found by police in the Pumicestone Passage has been charged with multiple offences.

The 28-year-old Caboolture man has been charged with 20 offences, including four counts of enter premises and commit, four counts of wilful damage, and one count each of dangerous operation of a vehicle, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and obstruct police.

He is expected to appear before Maroochydore Magistrates Court on July 2.

EARLIER: A driver who allegedly left the scene of a crash into a lounge room has been located in open water and arrested.

Police were initially called to reports of a stolen vehicle smashing into a house at Anning Avenue at Golden Beach about 5.35am.

A Queensland Police Service spokesperson alleged the driver fled the scene but was located in the Pumicestone Passage, swimming towards Pelican Waters.

The man then climbed into a boat, and then a second boat, while allegedly making threats.

Specialist police engaged with the man and arrested him without incident.

Locals and holidaymakers watched on as he was taken up the pier at the Caloundra Power Boat Club boat ramp.

Police arrested a man after he was found in the Pumicestone Passage.

Paramedics assessed the occupants of the house after the crash.

No one was injured during the crash, however the dwelling and a vehicle parked at the residence were damaged.

Police issued a media release in the afternoon, stating that they had arrested a 28-year-old Caboolture man after “a hit and run and subsequent negotiations in Golden Beach”.

They alleged the car, a Ford Ranger, was stolen from a Wurtulla address earlier in the morning.

Investigations are continuing.
