After a few picture-perfect weeks, the gloomy weather has returned, with showers predicted for the long weekend.
Windy conditions will make offshore fishing tricky, so we’d recommend sticking to local rivers and estuaries – just make sure you pack the wet weather gear.
More rain means prime crabbing conditions. We will have fresh mullet in store over the weekend to load the pots.
Unfortunately it’s looking like we will be without live worms this weekend due to the weather, but keep an eye on our Facebook and Instagram for updates.
Offshore: Fishos have enjoyed some good conditions and great catches over the past week, however conditions are set to deteriorate this weekend. Murphy’s Reef has delivered catches of Cobia, Kingfish and Cod. Some epic Spanish Mackerel have been caught at the Barwon Banks and on the reefs of Caloundra, however sharks are proving pesky.

Maroochy River: Dirty water combined with unfavourable tides has meant the bite has been slow. Some smaller Flathead and Trevally have been reported, with some good-size Tailor caught on soft-plastic paddletails. Whiting and Bream continue to be caught at the lower end of the river, with Tarwhine and Flathead also reported.
Noosa River: Catches of Bream, Trevally and Whiting continue to be reported, along with some Tailor around the Frying Pan. Flathead are still about but have been a bit harder to catch over the past week, with some smaller-size catches reported in Woods Bay. Crabs are still being reported in good numbers, with this weekend looking like the perfect time to soak the pots.
Caloundra: Fishos have reported some good catches of Flathead and Trevally, with Whiting still being caught in good numbers in the lower reaches. Military Jetty has delivered catches of Trevally and Queenfish, including an epic specimen caught by Cooper on ANZAC Day. Off the beach, there’s been reports of some decent size Snapper, Dart and Whiting.
Beaches: We’ve had reports of some good Jewfish catches this week all the way along the coast. Kawana Beach has delivered some nice Dart, Bream, Whiting and Flathead, while Caloundra beaches have seen Whiting and Dart, with some nice Snapper also reported. Plenty of Dart and Whiting have been caught at beaches around Noosa. Tailor are starting to show, with reports of some small ones caught this week.
