The program for the Sunshine Coast’s premier food and drink festival has been revealed, with a riverside showcase of beers and spirits among the 90 events planned.

The Curated Plate, to be held from July 26 and August 4, will this year have three signature events, including two brand new ones.

Among them will be the Sunny Coast Breweries and Distilleries Festival, which will feature a range craft beer and premium spirits in a festival atmosphere at Cotton Tree Park, on the banks of the Maroochy River, on July 27 and 28.

Held in partnership with national event organiser GABS, the event invites people to explore some of the best artisan drinks and foods from the Sunshine Coast, which is promoting itself as ‘Australia’s Craft Beer Capital’.

Another signature event will be a food market for families and food lovers, held at the Coast’s newest venue The Station.

Queensland’s Sunshine Pantry live at The Station SC will open its doors to more than 70 stallholders showcasing the finest local products and give patrons the chance to fill up their pantries and indulge in a diverse array of flavours and delights.

The Curated Plate attracts gourmands to events across the Coast.

With the support of the Food and Agribusiness Network, stalls will showcase Sunshine Coast farm-made produce including handcrafted cheeses, artisanal breads and pastries, boutique chocolates, grass-fed beef and lamb, local honey, premium coffee and tea.

Sunshine Coast Council mayor Rosanna Natoli said it was time for our cooks and chefs to shine.

“This event provides the opportunity for our region to showcase its fantastic offerings,” she said.

“This ranges from our plentiful produce to an array of stunning restaurants and our amazing producers.

“More than 200 businesses from across the region’s food and agribusiness sector and tourism and hospitality industry have worked together to prepare the 10-day food and drink showcase that has more than 90 delicious events to choose from.”

The Curated Plate is a 10-day event that celebrates the region’s local producers and chefs.

In addition to the signature events, a variety of other experiences are on offer for food lovers including cooking classes, culinary cruises, degustation dinners, long lunches and brunches, farm tours and high teas. Prices range from $30-$280.

The festival is an initiative of the Sunshine Coast Council, supported by the Queensland Government through Tourism and Events Queensland, the Food and Agribusiness Network and Visit Sunshine Coast.
