Real estate agent Robbie Neller has sold plenty of lavish beachside properties on the Sunshine Coast but there’s one unheralded suburb that he rates the best.

The selling principal at Neller Real Estate has clinched deals for multimillion-dollar homes at renowned and chic locations like Sunshine Beach and Peregian Beach, but he said Castaways Beach was the pick of the bunch.

A property for sale there, 20 Tropicana Rise, has attracted significant interest from prospective buyers who are discovering the area’s appeal. It’s expected to go for more than $5 million.

“It’s on the beachfront and with those views, it’s pretty rare,” Mr Neller said.

“Tropicana is probably the only street from Sunrise Beach to Peregian Beach that has those sorts of views.”

The amazing views from 20 Tropicana Rise.

The Hamptons-inspired custom-designed home boasts a north-easterly aspect and 180-degree ocean views.

The home is on a 937sqm block and just 100m from the sand.

Its split-level design, which welcomes plenty of natural light, includes tall ceilings, French oak flooring, a curved stone feature wall and generous glass windows to showcase the scenery.

The four-bedroom, three-bathroom home has a self-cleaning pool, solar power, PIN code entry and remote-controlled irrigation.

“It’s a very tasteful build, with a tasteful renovation,” Mr Neller said.

“There’s also a gate that you can walk through, straight down to the beach.”

It’s the views and the proximity to the sand and surf which is of great appeal.

But there’s much more to Castaways Beach.

20 Tropicana Rise faces the ocean.

“It’s so tightly held and there are reasons for that,” Mr Neller said.

“Castaways has the best of both worlds,” he said.

“You’re only five minutes to Hastings Street (for vibrant shopping) but you’re also only five minutes to Peregian Beach for that village lifestyle.

“And you don’t get too many people on holidays at Castaways. It really is a community of locals.

“Castaways is my favourite place because it’s secluded.

“There’s a lot less people visiting and there’s more of a community feel.

“Peregian and Noosa have a lot of holiday people and you just don’t get that at Castaways.”

Data from realestate.com.au states that the median sales price at Castaways is a cool $1.85m. Ten properties have been sold there during the past year.

Mr Neller said 20 Tropicana Rise could suit full-time residents or be a perfect holiday home, which its current Melbourne-based owners have used it as.

He said there’d been several inquiries about the property.

“We’ve had lots of interest,” he said.

“We sold a property two doors down a couple of months ago (for $6.65m) so a lot of the interest has been coming off the back of that.”
