One of the Sunshine Coast’s longest-running tourism ventures is on the market.

Cruise Maroochy has already attracted plenty of interest since it was listed with Ray White Commercial, said agent John Petralia, who is handling the sale.

“It’s definitely not the average cafe or business that you sell,” he said.

“It’s very unique as it comes with leasehold over the jetty, which is the only one of its kind on the Maroochy River and there won’t be any more.

“We’ve already had interest from people who only want to buy the business, and from some people who are only interested in the jetty.”

Cruise Maroochy has been operating for more than two decades and was recently entered into Ecotourism Australia’s Hall of Fame.

The popular tourism business is also a hit with locals and has hosted weddings, Christmas parties, school excursions and corporate events on its vessels.

The sale includes the leasehold over the jetty.

Mr Petralia said the current owners had taken some time off in the past 12 months and were keen for the business to remain operating on the Maroochy River.

“The one good thing about this business is that you can run it around your lifestyle,” he said.

“You can pick and choose when you want to work.

“The current owners didn’t operate the boats, they had qualified skippers, so you don’t even need a boat licence.

“They have built a strong foundation and will be the first to admit that the business would flourish further with an injection of younger enthusiasm.

“The business comes fully staffed and the buyers will basically be in control of a piece of the river from a tourism perspective.”

Inside one of the two Cruise Maroochy vessels.

The sale of Cruise Maroochy is being handled by Ray White Commercial Noosa and Sunshine Coast.

It comes with two commercial passenger vessels (with capacities of 98 and 65 people) and all future bookings.

The leasehold of a 319sqm jetty, which expires in 2044, is also on the table.
