A business group that calls itself the “fun chamber” has welcomed a new president at its annual general meeting.
Long-time local Alister Eiseman will lead the Kawana Chamber of Commerce, taking over the role from Aitken Legal special counsel Hamish Procter, who was president for four years.
Mr Eiseman has been a member with the chamber for the past 12 months and is joined by a committee of vice-president Daniel Albert, treasurer Jacqueline Eedgeman, secretary Samuel Stolberg and general members Cassy Small, Kate Ogg, Mark Paddenburg, Steph Richardson and Michelle Evans.
As branch manager at Pacific Motor Group, Mr Eiseman is no stranger to juggling the complexities of business and is ready for the new challenge.
“The Kawana region is about to take centre stage over the coming years with 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games preparation, growth in development, advocating for infrastructure needs and the challenging balance of keeping our local business community thriving amongst the disruption,” he said.
Mr Procter said it had been an honour to lead the chamber.
“The Kawana Chamber is a special chamber because of the people that come together with no other intent than to support, help and grow the Kawana region and each other’s businesses,” Mr Procter said.
“It has been my absolute pleasure to guide and lead this chamber with key highlights being our new major partnership with Comlink Australia, finding a physical home at Vitality Village, our annual Grenfell Murray Christmas in July and the increased collaboration with other chambers on the Sunshine Coast.”
Mr Eiseman and Mr Procter both acknowledged the contributions of exiting committee members Louise Nousala and Carlos Vaquero, who have both served for five years.
The AGM, held at the Mercure Sunshine Coast Kawana Waters, was officiated by former president Kerry Ricketts with a video appearance from Member for Kawana Jarrod Bleijie.
