A new park ‘n’ ride facility and bus interchange, which will improve safety by removing the need for people to navigate a level crossing, is about to open.
The new facilities at Landsborough will be open to the public from 4am on Monday, August 14.
The works form part of Stage 1 of the Beerburrum to Nambour Rail Upgrade (B2N) project, which includes duplication of 13km of rail line between Beerburrum and Beerwah.

“Three-hundred additional parking spaces will now be available on the eastern side of the station, along with a new bus interchange,” Federal Member for Fisher Andrew Wallace said.
“This will increase capacity, improve reliability and reduce travel times for passenger and freight services in the growing Sunshine Coast region.”
The new park ‘n’ ride also includes additional accessible parking spaces, a bicycle parking area, motorcycle parking and a kiss ‘n’ ride drop-off zone.
The new bus interchange will continue servicing routes to the Coast, with hinterland routes continuing to operate from the existing western side.

Early works for Stage 1 of the B2N upgrade also include realignment of a 1km section of Steve Irwin Way and expansion of the park ‘n’ ride facility at Nambour.
It’s funded by the Australian and Queensland governments on a 70:30 basis, with a commitment of $390 million and $161 million respectively.
Mr Wallace said the B2N project was made possible thanks to $390 million of funding provided by the former federal Coalition government.
The state government has said that the 13km duplication between Beerburrum to Beerwah will be “shovel ready” next year and completed by 2027.
The Department of Transport and Main Roads’ website says the state government is “continuing discussions with the Australian Government regarding funding for future stages to deliver the full scope under the business case”.
