A new two-level kindergarten has opened in a flourishing Sunshine Coast suburb.

Developer Evans Long opened the stand-alone centre on Fairfax Street at Sippy Downs.

It was designed by local architects Blackburne Jackson and built by Evans Built.

It will cater for 44 children aged four to six, and prepare them for the transition to Prep and primary school.

Sippy Downs has emerged as one of the region’s growth suburbs in recent years, centred around the evolving University of the Sunshine Coast.

It boasts retail centres, business hubs, multiple schools and nature and recreation areas, along with a growing estimated population of 11,500 in 2021.

Evans Long director Matt Evans said the kindergarten followed the developer’s other projects in the suburb, including the Central Retail project, Sippy Downs Early Learning Centre and the soon-to-be-completed Central Residences.

“This latest project continues to build on our reputation of being first to market within infrastructure-rich, master-planned precincts,” he said.

Kids enjoy the new facilities at Sippy Downs.

“Our track record across South-East Queensland has been to explore opportunities within commercial markets outside CBD locations.

“These locations often behave differently to big city settings and we’ve invested the time to understand the unique characteristics, which has enabled our developments to often be the first to market in these precincts.”

Mr Evans said Evans Long’s other projects included the new Maroochydore City Centre, where it developed the Foundation Place and A1 commercial buildings, as well as the Pulse health building at Oceanside within Birtinya.

“Our ability to perform in these settings is proven and we’re always on the lookout for further opportunities,” he said.
