A mediterranean-inspired property on the Sunshine Coast has been adjudged Australia’s top holiday home.
Mykonos Villa claimed the gold medal in the annual Holiday Home of the Year Awards, run by holiday home website Stayz.
The slice of paradise at Sunshine Beach features four ensuited bedrooms, two living areas, three outdoor entertaining areas, a fully equipped chef’s kitchen and large dining areas.
Built-in daybeds are scattered throughout, and there’s a private turret room for relaxation.
There’s an elevated heated pool on the main level, and an outdoor kitchen and barbecue on the rooftop deck that provides a magical location for dinner and sunset drinks under the stars.
The refurbished home allows guests to relax in exclusive areas, or come together and enjoy one of many options for the perfect celebration.
It costs an average price of $145 per person per night for a group of eight.
It’s hosted by Beach Holidays Noosa, which celebrated on social media.
“We take great pride in being named a finalist for Stayz Holiday Home of the Year with our Mykonos Luxury Villa,” they said.
Property manager Maryanne Bondzulic said via Stayz that the home allowed guests to fully unwind.
“The Mediterranean aesthetic and thoughtfully curated spaces, like the private turret room and multiple outdoor entertaining areas, really allow our guests to sink straight into holiday mode,” she said.
Another Sunshine Coast holiday home was a finalist in the awards.
Magical Malindi at Montville offers breathtaking views of the Obi Obi Valley and Lake Baroon.
The home features cathedral ceilings and private decks surrounding its lower and upper levels, offering privacy, tranquillity and luxury in one place.
Stayz selected the top-10 holiday homes based on criteria that included having a 4.5 or higher star rating and standout amenities and spaces for spending time together with family and friends.
Stayz travel expert Daniel Finch said the country’s top-10 holiday homes boasted plenty of variety.
“From beachside homes to charming mountainside escapes, this year’s Holiday Homes of the Year Awards truly reflect the amazing range of whole-home holiday rentals available across Australia on Stayz,” he said.
“The top-10 homes are perfect for families and group travellers, sleeping from eight to 18 people and averaging at $1488 per night, making them a great, affordable option for planning much-needed time away with loved ones.
“With the winter school holidays just around the corner, these homes are perfect inspiration for families planning their next unforgettable getaway.”
