One of the world’s biggest and recognisable auction houses and brokers is expanding its reach from one of Queensland’s iconic beach towns.

Sotheby’s – a renowned dealer of art and collectibles – is entering the Noosa residential property market via its luxury real estate subsidiary Sotheby’s International Realty.

The prestigious agency has more than 1000 offices in 72 countries.

Queensland Sotheby’s International Realty opened is sixth branch in the state, at Noosa Junction on Monday.

QSIR CEO Paul Arthur said Sotheby’s and Noosa were a perfect fit.

“My aspiration was to bring one of the most revered brands to the Noosa clientele,” he said via a statement.

Queensland Sotheby’s acquired Brown & Co sales division – its Noosa Junction office – real estate sales division.

“The holiday leasing division remains under Brown & Co management, and the real estate sales unit rolls in under the Queensland Sotheby’s brand,” Mr Arthur said.

“Jet Rose Properties have significant presence in Sunrise Beach, Peregian Beach and Perigean Springs.
