A Sunshine Coast zoo is ready to throw open its gates at night and allow visitors to see some amazing nocturnal animals in action.
The ‘Night Zoo’ tour will launch at Wildlife HQ on November 18 and it will run every Friday and Saturday evening, from 6.30pm, for a limited season.
Spaces will be limited to 25 people per tour and they should be able to see animals that are most active after the sun sets, including Tasmanian devils, African wild dogs, servals, red pandas, binturong and maned Wolf.
The environmentally sensitive lighting will provide visitors with the rare chance to see the animals’ social habits and feeding behaviours.

Wildlife HQ CEO Jarrod Schenck said the experience would be like nothing else in the region.
“The Night Zoo will be the first of its kind on the Sunshine Coast,” he said.
“We are so excited for our visitors to see the zoo come alive after dark.’
“It is an entirely different zoo.
“The monkeys, who are such a popular draw card during the day, have all gone to sleep.
“And the carnivores come to life at night.
“Our keepers will feed the African painted dogs and Tasmanian devils.
“And visitors will be able to see these incredible animals showing off their natural group feeding behaviours.’
“We are very excited about offering something new for families to do on the Sunshine Coast at night.
“It’s an adventure for all ages and with the weather warming up it’s a great way to get outside and experience nature and learn about wildlife conservation.’
