Peter Hudson in Conversation

Since the 1990s, Peter Hudson has explored aspects of the natural world through painting and drawing. The landscape has been a constant for Mr Hudson, particularly the Glass House Mountains and hinterland around Maleny, where he resides. The Moon, ocean, fish, birds and snakes also re-occur in his paintings, analogies for complex systems and relationships in nature. In 1998, the artist made the first of many trips to the Aboriginal communities of Daguragu and Kalkarindji in Gurindji Country, Northern Territory. So began a decades-long association with the Gurindji people that transformed Mr Hudson’s understanding of nature and spirituality.
