A unique sport that is renowned for its glitz and glamour is set to make a rare appearance on the Sunshine Coast.

Polo, known by many as ‘The Sport of Kings’, will be contested at Diddillibah on Saturday, September 3, when Polo By The Sea makes its long-awaited debut in the region.

Coastline BMW Polo By The Sea Sunshine Coast will include all the flashiness the sport is known, alongside award-winning entertainment and hospitality.

Using a variation of traditional polo, matchplay will be faster and more exciting and guests have been guaranteed they will always be close to the action.

A big crowd is expected to the event.

Beyond the enthralling polo action, Polo by the Sea will be an interactive event, providing a number of opportunities for guests to win prizes and immerse themselves in activities including:

  • The famous Divot Stomp.
  • Men’s & Women’s ‘Fashion on the Field’ competitions.
  • Car V’s Pony Race.
  • Men’s and Women’s Dash.

Polo By The Sea is also set to boost the local economy.

It will provide locals with a great day out but will also attract visitors from around the state and inter-state. About 30 per cent of attendees to Polo by the Sea events are historically from outside the host area.

There will be an After Party at Polo By The Sea.

There should be an economic injection through accommodation, retail, hospitality and transport.

Coastline BMW Polo By The Sea Sunshine Coast will be delivered by Events Queensland, in collaboration with the Urban Polo Association.

The event is part of a series that includes stops on the Gold Coast and Palm Beach, with a number of other locations earmarked for 2023.
