Celebrate World Environment Day
Celebrate World Environment Day at events around the region. A family fun day, supported by Sunshine Coast Council, will be held at Coolum. Enjoy sounds from local musicians, choose from hands-on eco-art experiences and soak up ideas for sustainable living. There will be green art activities and you can take home free plants from BushCare Sunshine Coast. Meanwhile, a festival, organised by environment protection group Take Action for Pumicestone Passage, will be held at Pelican Waters. There will be plenty of music, food and fun as more than 20 community groups acknowledge the importance of the natural environment in the region.
When: Sunday, June 5, 10am to 4pm (Coolum) and 9am to 2pm (Pelican Waters).

Sparrows of Kabul
Fred Smith and band will be presenting this extraordinary song cycle on Australia’s involvement in Afghanistan, culminating in the dramatic evacuation from Kabul in August 2021. Mr Smith was there at the beginning in Uruzgan Province and returned at the end, working from Kabul International Airport on the difficult evacuation.

ABBA & The Bee Gees Tribute Show
Abba Re-Bjorn and The Ultimate Bee Gees have joined forces for a one-off ‘disco night’ in a showcase spectacular. Collating five decades of super hits from ABBA and the Bee Gees in one two-and-a-half-hour high-octane show, the ABBA and Bee Gees show has been hailed as the ultimate night of entertainment. This is an 18-plus event.

Men Of League State of Origin Lunch
Men of League Foundation Sunshine Coast is holding its 12th annual State of Origin lunch at the Maroochy RSL. This year’s special guest speaker is legendary super coach Wayne Bennett, who has coached the Brisbane Broncos to six premierships and is now coach of the newly-formed Dolphins rugby league team, which will join the NRL IN 2023. The second guest is former NRL player Carl Webb, who is currently receiving support from the foundation since his diagnosis with motor neuron disease. Included with the ticket is a two-course lunch, drinks and great raffle prizes.

SingSpire Chorus Variety Concert
SingSpire Chorus’ mission is to inspire people with the joy of singing. You’re invited to this annual concert. The show includes a delicious afternoon tea and lucky door prizes. The concert is a charity fundraiser for The Shack, which is a group of committed volunteers who, for more than 17 years, has supported thousands of needy people in Nambour in drug rehab, accommodation, programs and meals.

High Tea for the Hounds
Enjoy a lavish morning tea with refreshments, entertainment, special guests and fabulous raffle prizes, while raising funds for PTSD. PTSD Dogs Australia is a not-for-profit organisation that rescues dogs from pounds and shelters and trains them to become loyal and supportive assistant dogs for veterans and first responders with PTSD. There will be a lucky door prize courtesy of Fiona’s Fancies. A $500 gift certificate for a pet with family portrait donated by Zoo Studio Brisbane will be auctioned.

The Rolling Stones Experience
The Rolling Stones Experience is a rock ‘n’ roll band that recreates that Stones’ sound and the songs you know and love with absolute authenticity and professionalism. The band has more than 150 years of combined experience between them. They live and breathe it and they do it well; it’s what they’ve been doing all their adult lives. You’ll be jerked up out of your seat and dancing for hours.

Funk Soul Love On The Deck at Witta
This will be an evening of great food, great music and a little funk.
