Plans for a $110 million luxury apartment complex that will create a “grand entrance” to the Caloundra CBD have been approved by Sunshine Coast Council.

Henzell Property Group announced the development application had received the tick, paving the way for work to start in October on the nine-storey Verre project.

The apartments and ‘lifestyle precinct’ at the bottom end of the main street is one of a number of upcoming projects that aim to reshape Caloundra.

At the other of town, on the top of Bulcock Street, yet-unnamed developers are forging ahead with a $250 million boutique hotel and high-end apartments known as Paloma Paloma.

Up the road from that on Canberra Terrace, Karam Boutique Residential recently shared its vision for 26 apartments each containing its own plunge pool, spa and sauna.

Henzells said its Verre Project would become a “grand entrance statement” at the gateway to Bulcock Street.

Verre will feature 70 premium one, two and three-bedroom apartments and penthouses ranging from 95sqm to 263sqm rising above a boutique laneway precinct.

Verre comprises 70 apartments on nine levels.

Designed by Sunshine Coast firm O.G.E Group Architects, the project will reflect the natural forms of local coves and headlands. It will comprise high-end dwellings with lobbies, communal areas and a resort pool.

Henzell Property Group managing director Mclean Henzell said the company was excited to get the green light for the “unique arrival experience” for Caloundra.

“We believe Verre will set a new benchmark for urban living for the southern Sunshine Coast,’’ he said.

“Through the ground level laneway precinct with scope for a signature restaurant and one other commercial tenancy, we aim to create a positive attraction for all of Caloundra,’’ he said.

Henzell Property Group will tender for construction in June with a view to starting on the Verre site in October.

Henzell Property Group is also behind the $200m Cove residential development in Pelican Waters, currently under construction.
