Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and legendary American songwriter Lionel Ritchie might never have their day in the sun again if not for Sunshine Coast business owners Peter and Linda Hockin.

Their swimwear and sun-protection clothing company, Stingray, has been seen on some of the world’s biggest celebrities – some of whom have then shared photos with their millions of followers.

Peter and Linda recently became the 50th homeowners to settle at B by Halcyon in Buderim after deciding to downsize as they get into the swim of transitioning to retirement.

Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg is a fan of the Stingray sun-protection products.

Their wide range of activewear, leisurewear and accessories from baby to adult sizes includes everything from one-piece “stinger” suits, swim shorts and hats to long-sleeved polo shirts.

The products cover activities from swimming, cycling, surfing and sailing to snorkelling, bodyboarding and lazing on the beach.

The Stingray products offer protection from the harsh UV rays with UPF50+: the highest rating.

The Italian-made swimwear fabrics are made for exceptional wear and durability in sea and chlorinated water, and are breathable and fast-drying, with reliable shape retention.

“Mark Zuckerberg, from Facebook, he has purchased swimwear through us,” Peter revealed.

Lionel Ritchie loves his Stingray “onesie”.

“The other guy who ordered through us last year is Lionel Ritchie.

“We do stinger suits. He picked one up and put a photo on Facebook.

“He calls it his ‘favourite onesie’.”

Stingray is a family business that Peter and Linda run with one of their sons.

They have been researching, designing, testing and manufacturing UV protection activewear since 1986.

Peter and Linda Hockin have settled into one of B by Halcyon’s largest homes, the two-storey Daintree.
