It’s time to brush up on your arcade game and dodgem car skills as Queensland’s first funhouse precinct rolls up to the Sunshine Coast.

Arcade and cocktail bar Archie Brothers Cirque Electriq has opened in Maroochydore’s Big Top Shopping Centre and is described as an overload for the senses “in the best possible way”.

Part of the Funlab enterprise, which also owns Strike and Holey Moley Golf Club, this new addition makes the Coast Queensland’s only precinct combining the house of fun, with arcade games, dodgem cars, carousels, virtual reality and bowling.

Funlab CEO Michael Schreiber said since first opening the Holey Moley and Strike arms of its business on the Sunshine Coast in 2018, it had received amazing support.

“We’re so excited to welcome Archie Brothers Cirque Electriq to our fun house,” he said.

“It will be the trio of trippy, dazzling fun, fittingly based at the Big Top Shopping Centre.”

Mr Schreiber said the Archie Brothers venue was “not your average arcade” but a spectacle for all ages as it hosted a variety of arcade and ticket games that gave old-fashioned fun a new life.

“We’ve got games galore and plentiful prizes to be won,” he said.

“From arcade classics to raucous redemption games, the fun never stops.

“If you haven’t heard of Mario Cart, Monopoly Roll ‘n Go, Virtual Rabbids VR, Fast Track Air Hockey or Zombie Splash, you’d better brush up.

“These are the arcade games – old school and new – they are going to blow your mind.”

Archie Brothers also has a “kaleidoscopic circus” of cocktails, crazy shakes and mocktails fizzing with flavour and fun.

Flavours are inspired by disco divas and movie popcorn, plus candy mocktails for the younger crowd.

Funlab has been delivering fun across Australia, New Zealand and Singapore for almost 20 years, with brands including Sky Zone, B Lucky and Sons, Juke Karaoke and Red Herrings Escape Rooms.
