A musical adventure, based on a popular Disney film, will be on show at the Pacific Paradise State School Hall this week.

Disney’s Moana Jr. is playing from Wednesday until Friday. The 70-minute production, designed for middle school-aged performers, is based on the hit 2016 Disney film Moana.

The cast includes more than 80 students from Grades 3-6, led by Mrs Bonnie McBay and her team.

“Working on this production has been a joy,” she said.

“I feel our students can easily relate to Moana’s love of the ocean and her bravery.

Cailin Armstrong as Moana.

“Our students have loved learning more about Polynesian culture, including learning how to sing in the three Polynesian languages used in Moana.

“We have even had a Tongan grandmother make grass skirts and gift us some Tapa material that have used to adorn our boat, which is the focal point of the story.”
