A new multi-million dollar health and wellbeing facility is set to include an award-winning training provider.

Vitality Village is a $25 million project, under construction by local firm McNab, in the Sunshine Coast Health precinct at Birtinya.

It’s expected to connect businesses, innovators, entrepreneurs and researchers.

More than 70% of the $25 million Vitality Village building is now leased or under offer.

Village tenant Look Now Training is set to bolster the region’s employment. The business specialises in supplying the community and carer sector with job-ready graduates, and providing pathways to employment for Indigenous and other job seekers.

Look Now Training CEO Grant McDonagh says he can’t wait to start collaboration with other tenants.

Vitality Village is set to be a five-storey, 4700 m2 building in the health precinct at Birtinya..

“The proposed community vibe of the village is really exciting for us. We see that we should offer a lot to other tenants, and they to us as well,” he said.

“The idea of collaboration suits us. We are noisy, social and like to try new things.

“We think we will secure new business across all arms of our company- training, Indigenous recruitment, Indigenous labour hire – by being here at the Village.”

Look Now Training will have a team of 20 at Vitality Village and it has ambitious plans for growth during the next five years.

“We have set ourselves the target for Look Now Training to be the training provider for Vitality Village tenants, to source new workers and deliver organisational skills assessments and retraining for current tenant staff,” Mr McDonagh said.

“We hope all Vitality Village tenants will be seen as leaders in Indigenous employment and support, backed by our team of expert staff.

“Our service offerings will complement the needs of village tenants, whether that’s recruiting individual support workers, up-skilling existing workers looking to upgrade to supervisory roles, or assistance for businesses looking for trainees.”

The village project is being led by Be (formerly ComLink), through start-up funding and the relocation of their Sunshine Coast team to the new facility.
