New field lighting, court upgrades and an accessible mini-van are just some of the big ticket items that will be funded in the Ninderry electorate as part of the latest round of Gambling grants.
Ninderry MP Dan Purdie said five community and sports clubs would share nearly $130,000 in grants for new equipment and infrastructure upgrades.
Coolum Beach Junior Rugby League Club (Coolum Colts), Coolum Croquet Club, Eumundi Tennis Club, Maroochy Mens Shed and Coolum Peregian RSL Sub-branch will benefit from the grants.
“As a proud sponsor of Coolum Colts junior rugby league, I know how important the field lighting is for the club,” Mr Purdie said.
“Not only will the field lighting be utilised by the Colts for their footy season, in the off-season it will also service the Coolum Sharks Cricket Club who use the same fields, giving twice as much value to this grant.”

Coolum Colts president Josh Olsen said the club had been trying to fundraise for the lighting for a number of years.
“The field lighting has been on our wish list for a few years now, and it’s great to think we’ll finally be able to play and train under lights,” Josh said.
“This will really benefit not only our club, but other sporting codes and the wider community.”
The next round of Gambling grants, Round 109, is now open, and closes on April 30.
