Sundale Community Foundation has presented its fourth year of community grants to 12 charitable organisations, at the Nambour RSL.

The SCF was established in 2015 by Sundale Ltd, with the aim of extending the charitable influence of Sundale through financial grants for worthy projects in Nambour and its environs.

$1 million was gifted by Sundale Ltd to kick-start the Community Foundation and thanks to the Sundale Community Foundation Board of volunteers that money has been invested and earnings from those funds are distributed to community grants each year.

SCF Chair Caroline Hutchinson said they were delighted to lend a hand.

“We are very proud to announce Sundale Community Foundation community giving, with more than $57,000 in funds to worthy local community groups in the Nambour and surrounds,” she said.

‘”2020 was challenging as a community, and financially, we are proud to have achieved such a strong return for our community this year, in issuing these grants.”

This year SCF has again partnered with Sundale Limited ($15,000), and Ken Mills Toyota ($5000), with this additional $20,000 making extra support to the community.

Sundale CEO Danielle Mackenzie said they were determined to help.

Sundale Community Foundation presented a dozen grants.

“At Sundale we strive to make a difference in people’s lives every day,” she said.

“These grants allow us to extend our support beyond the aged care sector.

“Sundale is honoured to donate $10,000 to Nambour Special School so they can upgrade their bike track and playground and $5000 to St Vincent de Paul, which will go towards provision of school uniforms and children’s shoes.”

“We hope the grants make a difference to local families and allow Nambour Special School and St Vincent de Paul to continue their meaningful and valuable work throughout the Sunshine Coast community.”

Brett Mills from Ken Mills Toyota said they were keen to be involved.

“This is our third year partnering with the Sundale Community Foundation grants program and we continue to be incredibly inspired by the high calibre of community projects being undertaken in the Nambour region.”

“This year we are supporting the Nambour Rugby Union Club with a $5000 grant so that they can provide a fully equipped strength and conditioning facility for their players.

“My wife, Caroline, and I are particularly passionate about community initiatives in the areas of children’s health and well-being, education and sport.

“To be able to help these junior players maximise the outcomes of their hard work and practice is a great privilege and I look forward to watching their season progress.”

Grants will be presented at the event to: Palmwoods C&K Kindy, Nambour State College P&C, QPCYWA – Sunshine Coast PCYC, St Vincent de Paul Society Qld, Guides Queensland – Nambour District, Little Dreamers Australia, Nambour Special School, Adopt Change, Nambour Rugby Union Football Club, Nambour Meals on Wheels Service Inc, Hear and Say- Centre for Deaf Children Ltd (Sunshine Coast) and the Woombye Snakes FC.

Applications for the 2021 SCF Grants round will open July 14 and close on August 31, for grants between $1000-$10,000.
