The line-up for Groovin the Moo 2023 has been announced, ahead of the festival’s first appearance on the Sunshine Coast.
The impressive list includes Eliza Rose and Ball Park Music, whose hits featured in the top-10 of the triple j Hottest 100 last weekend.
There will also be a local homecoming for Sunshine Coast ‘shed rock’ band The Chats.
Organisers revealed the details to subscribers and via their website on Wednesday.
“Fire up the group chat (and) sync your calendars … because Groovin the Moo’s 2023 line-up is here,” they said.
“Whether you’re a first timer or a festival fanatic, you’re in for a full day of fun country hospitality, incredible tunes and seriously good times at GTM.”
The list boasts several artists who featured in the recent triple j Hottest 100, including Eliza Rose in the No.2 spot with B.O.T.A (Baddest Of Them All) and Ball Park Music at No.8 with Stars In My Eyes. Among others were Skegss, Luude and Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers.
“We are thrilled to bring a diverse line-up of artists from near and far to six beaut regions around the country,” organisers said.
“The 2023 line up has something for everyone, from crowd favourites Skepta and Denzel Curry to lord of the bangers Fatboy Slim.”
The line-up: alt-j (UK), Amy Shark, Ball Park Music, Barkaa, bbno$ (CAN), The Chats, Choomba, Confidence Man, Denzell Curry (USA) Eliza Rose (UK), Fatboy Slim (UK), Laurel (UK), Luude, Ocean Alley, Omar Apollo (USA) Royel Otis, Skeggs, Skepta (UK), Slayyyter (USA) Slowly Slowly, Sophie May (UK), Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers, Teenage Dads, Teenage Joans, with hosts Lex and Pookie.
The festival will also include triple j Unearthed, Fresh Produce artists and community programs to be announced.
Groovin the Moo will be held on the Sunshine Coast for the first time, at Kawana Sports Western Precinct at Birtinya on Sunday, April 30.
“There might be a paddock full of artists, but GTM is not just about the music,” organisers said.
“Immerse yourself in discovering all the unique offerings of the area, from coffee connoisseurs to craft makers, farmers markets to thrift stores and everything in between.”
The festival will be held at six regional locations across six states and territories over three weekends.
It will entertain at Wayville on Friday, April 21, Maitland on Saturday, April 22, and Canberra on Sunday, April 23, before moving to Bendigo on Saturday, April 29, the Sunshine Coast on April 30 and then to Bunbury on Saturday, May 6
