A renowned South-East Queensland beach haven has been named among Australia’s top three holiday towns.

Noosa was recognised as No.3 on Australian Traveller Magazine’s list of the top 50 regional holiday towns in the country.

The ranking recognised the popularity of Noosa as a hub for Australian travellers and it came Noosa was awarded silver in the Top Tourism Towns of Australia for 2021.

Tourism Noosa Acting CEO Susan Ewington said the result reflected Australians’ love of holidaying in the region.

“This is a wonderful achievement for Noosa, and we’re honoured to be recognised as one of the top three regional towns in Australia,” she said.

“It really is a testament to the number of Australians that love spending their holidays in Noosa.”

“It is also a reflection of the growth and diversity of the region that we have so many new and repeat visitors that still put Noosa at the top of their holiday lists.

Western Australia’s Broome claimed top spot in the rankings, with Queensland’s destination Port Douglas coming in at second.

Australian Traveller Managing Director Quentin Long said the list should inspire Australians to travel within the country.

“With the Best Towns issue, our objective is to give readers a list of towns they can put on their lists of places to visit,” he said.

“For us, it’s all about inspiring Australians and making it easier for them to get out and see their own country,” he said.
