A prominent Queensland property developer will increase its reach across the region after merging with a long-standing Sunshine Coast business.

After delivering large marquee projects across the region, including The Cove, Pelican Waters, Avalon, The Corso and the Maroochydore CBD, Bennett + Bennett has joined forces with coast-based Skyline Surveyors.

Locally, Skyline Surveyors has been providing tailored surveying services to the public and private sector since it was founded by the late Ken Ahern in 1981.

The merger doubles the size of Bennett + Bennett’s Sunshine Coast operations and managing director Mark Billsborough said it was now one of the largest privately-owned surveying and spatial services companies in the region.

“We’re excited to join forces with Skyline to ensure we can increase our capability to deliver for our customers,” he said.

“Having operated in the region for more than 10 years, this merger further strengthens our ability to deliver efficient and effective development consulting and surveying services on the Sunshine Coast and further afield.

“It also provides greater reach and serviceability to our clients.”

The entire Skyline Surveyors team will join Bennett + Bennett’s Sunshine Coast office, taking the total number of staff across the group to 150.

Skyline Surveyors owner Corey James, who has come on board as a project manager, said the merger was a natural fit due to the shared vision and culture of the two companies.

“This new partnership will allow our businesses to pool skills, resources and technology, which will only benefit our customers,” he said.

Bennett + Bennett Director Ben Madden-Holmes, who heads up the Sunshine Coast office, said Mr James and his team brought with them a wealth of experience and consulting expertise.

“We’ve added another layer of consulting knowledge to our business, which will be invaluable on small and large projects alike,” he said.

Mr Billsborough said Bennett + Bennett’s merger with Skyline Surveyors is part of a larger plan for the business.

“We have observed all the great things Skyline has done and we identified it as being that perfect mix of a great cultural and professional fit, in a key region for us,” he said.

“We want to continue to have these conversations with other like-minded companies both in Brisbane and along the eastern seaboard.”

Specialising in property development, construction, data acquisition and major infrastructure, the company will continue to play a key role in Queensland’s landmark projects.
