Some of the Sunshine Coast’s best gardens will go be showcased to the public at a special annual event.
They will be exhibited during the Open Gardens program at the Buderim Garden Festival, which will also include flower shows, displays and sculptures, from October 21 to October 23.
Buderim Garden Club president John Lyon said gardeners in the area were busy preparing to present their gardens and floral blooms.
“While the wet weather of the past several months has created extra challenges, the gardens are looking fabulous as the weather warms up and are sure to inspire everyone who tours them,” he said.
“The Open Gardens include six very different but all beautiful gardens that show a range of different types of gardening, from a garden less than two years old, to those developed over decades including native gardens, spacious gardens and parklands, tropical gardens and more.”
Mr Lyon said the festival would also include the annual Spring Flower Show and photographic display as well as markets, garden sculpture exhibition and floral display.
The Buderim Garden Club is regarded as one of the top garden clubs in the country. It was awarded the Eleanor McLeod Award from Garden Clubs Australia, for outstanding service by an affiliated club to their local community.
The festival is sponsored by the Buderim Bendigo Bank and Manawee Garden Centre.

- Twilight Plant Market: outside on the green at Buderim War Memorial Hall (corner of Main and Church Streets, Buderim), on Friday, October 21, from 3pm to 7pm.
- Spring Flower Show and Photographic Display: inside Buderim War Memorial Hall, on Friday, October 21, 4pm to 7pm, Saturday, October 22, 8am to 4pm, Sunday, October 23, 8am to 2pm.
- Open Gardens: exclusive access to six different but beautiful gardens across Buderim, on Saturday, October 22, 8am to 4pm and Sunday, October 23, 8am to 3pm.
- Plant Market: outside on the green at Buderim War Memorial Hall on Saturday, October 22, 8am to 4pm and Sunday, October 23, from 8am to 2pm.
- Garden Sculpture Exhibition: at Buderim Craft Cottage – from Saturday, October 15t to Sunday, October 23, 10am to 4pm.
- Floral Display: at St Marks Anglican Church on Saturday, October 22, 8am to 4pm and Sunday, October 23, from 8am to 2pm.
Tickets: $20 for a weekend ticket with access to the Open Gardens and Flower Show, or for the Flower Show $3, $5 for a family of two or more, with school children and students free.
