A prominent developer is promising to deliver a taste of the Gold Coast with a “boutique” retail and dining centre that will “set a new benchmark” on the Sunshine Coast.

Simon Harvey, who was behind the Capri on Via Roma in Surfers Paradise, has turned his attention to stage three of BokBeach Corner in Bokarina.

The upcoming precinct on the Nicklin Way will include a gourmet deli, artisan coffee roaster, butcher, fresh food market, rooftop bar, cafes and restaurants.

The “hand-picked” tenants will also include a child care centre and fitness facility.

Stage three of BokBeach Corner is earmarked for the corner of the Nicklin Way and Meridian Street, opposite new upmarket beachside housing.

It follows stages one and two which are already open and incorporate a Cellarbrations Bottle shop, Banjo’s drive-thru bakery and Liberty Service Station.

Mr Harvey’s vision is modelled on his Gold Coast offering which he recently completed with the arrival of Harris Farm Markets.

Sydney-based Mr Harvey’s development company is Beaugroup.

“We’re excited to focus our efforts on our new retail hub — BokBeach Corner — on the Sunshine Coast,” said Mr Harvey.

“The new development is set to bring traits of our bespoke Gold Coast offering up north.

“Like Capri on Via Roma, BokBeach Corner will set a new benchmark in retail and dining, offering a lifestyle experience for locals like no other.”

Paul Braithwaite from the Sunshine Coast-based architectural firm Sprout Architects has been the leading architect on the project.

Award-winning global retail design consultancy Landini Associates, behind Capri on Via Roma, is currently working with Mr Harvey curating a selection of finishes, materials and tenancy designs to “set the BokBeach Corner development apart” from traditional format centres.

Landini’s Creative Director Mark Landini said his firm offered “cutting-edge” retail design not seen elsewhere in Australia.
