A Sunshine Coast man has realised a dream by winning the division one Gold Lotto prize.

The Nambour resident said he was blown away when he checked his Saturday Gold Lotto ticket and discovered he was one of the weekend’s big winners.

He held one of the 10 division one winning entries across Australia, in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4213. Each division one winning entry took home $587,281.03.

He said he would use the prize to pay off his mortgage.

His life-changing marked 12-game entry was purchased at Nextra Nambour, Shop 1, Nambour Plaza.

So far this year, there have been five division one wins on the Sunshine Coast, collectively worth more than $6.6 million.

Confirming his win with an official from The Lott, he said he’d just made the discovery moments before answering the call.

“I just checked my ticket. I can’t believe it,” he said.

A big Gold Lotto win is a cause for celebration.

“Wow. Thank you. That is truly amazing.

“I am blown away … blown away.

“I just checked it on the app and I had to put my glasses on because I thought I was seeing things.

“And a moment later, you called.

“It’s crazy. This is a dream. It’s amazing.”

“I’ll pay my mortgage off, for sure.

“And then I will be able to plan for what’s next. It will be amazing.”

Nextra Nambour owner Rod Hurst was thrilled to know the win had gone to a local.

“We’ve sold quite a few division one winning entries over the years,” he said.

“We love it when these prizes go to local customers, it’s great news for us and for the town.

“Congratulations to our latest winner.”

The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4213 were 44, 8, 31, 39, 45 and 24, while the supplementary numbers were 21 and 41.

The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 199 so far this financial year, including 45 won by Golden Casket customers.

In the 12 months to June 30 2021, Saturday Gold Lotto created 174 millionaires across Australia.

During this time, there were 341 division one winning in Saturday Gold Lotto entries across Australia, which collectively won more than $435.21 million.

There are more chances to win big with Tuesday Oz Lotto offering $30 million, while Thursday’s Powerball has $3 million up for grabs.
