The Sunshine Coast can expect a brilliant end to what has been a stunning winter, with a nice surprise in store for surfers.
While the Bureau of Meteorology says Tuesday will be partly cloudy with the chance of a thunderstorm in the morning, the ensuing week looks set to be a classic winter finale.
For gardeners, Tuesday looks like the only chance of getting a sprinkle of rain with a 60 per cent chance of showers.
The warmer north-to-northeasterly winds will give way to a more bracing blast of southwesterlies, which will be brisk on Wednesday before easing on Thursday and into the weekend.

Don’t put your jumpers and UGG boots away just yet, as the Bureau predicts cooler mornings, with minimums dropping to 7C on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
But there should be brilliant sunny days with light winds and temperature tops of between 22C and 24C.
An intense low-pressure system in southern NSW is close to the east coast, but is still expected to drive a powerful southerly 2m swell to Queensland.
This could start to filter in by Wednesday afternoon or early Thursday. And while the southerly angle will see much of it march past, we should still see super-clean, chest-high (1m) waves fanned by a light offshore breeze. A swell period of up to 12 seconds should ensure some quality rides.
These small, but sweet, conditions could last for three or four days before stronger northerly winds return from Sunday into Monday.
