A prominent site where a conspicuous pink house stood is set to go under the hammer.

No.178 Brisbane Road, at a bustling Mooloolaba intersection, will be on offer at a special auction event at Maroochydore on Sunday.

The property had an eye-catching, colourful but aged residence that was recently demolished.

The 612sqm lot and the neighbouring vacant 607sqm lot, No.3 Amarina Avenue, will be available separately or together.

A Ray White Mooloolaba listing highlighted the property’s appeal.

“This is an exceptional opportunity to acquire a highly desirable development site in one of the Sunshine Coast’s most tightly held and sought-after coastal suburbs.

“Situated on a prominent corner position with dual street frontage, the site offers outstanding exposure, access and future development flexibility.”

Ray White agent Adam Budd said it was in a Local Centre Zone for up to three storeys.

He detailed some of the site’s history.

“There were three previous owners before the property came to the market,” he said.

“It was a residential home with an old Aikido studio in the converted garage, which took advantage of the prime location.”

A listing on realcommercial.com.au stated that property should change hands in coming days.

“Long-term owners need out will be sold,” it stated.
