A man in his 20s has been assessed in a life-threatening condition following a drowning incident at Maroochydore Beach on Saturday night.

Queensland Ambulance Service was called to the beach at 11.04pm, where paramedics assessed the man following the incident.

The circumstances surrounding the drowning are not yet known.

The man’s current condition and whether he was transported to hospital have not been confirmed.
