A showcase of tiny homes, granny flats, cabins and alternative housing options will soon be held on the Sunshine Coast.
The Tiny Home Expo is coming to the region for the first time from July 10 to 12.
A major feature of the event is its speaker program with industry leaders, homeowners and specialists presenting on topics including design, sustainability, off-grid living, finance, land access and the realities of tiny home living.
Visitors will also have an opportunity to inspect display homes, meet builders and suppliers, compare products and gain practical insights.
The three-day expo was originally scheduled for June but was postponed after persistent wet weather left the grounds at the Caloundra Sharks Club too saturated for exhibitors to safely set up.
Event organiser Phae Barrett said the Sunshine Coast was a natural fit for the expo.
“We had to come to the Sunshine Coast,” she said.
“Not only is it home for me, but the region is also one of Australia’s strongest tiny house communities and quite possibly has the highest concentration of tiny homeowners of any local government area in the country.”
Organisers said the event offered a unique opportunity for people considering downsizing, creating additional accommodation or reducing living costs, to see homes in person and learn directly from those with real-world experience.
A staggered entry system will operate due to expected strong demand.
