A nine-week-old boy remains at the centre of a police investigation after being admitted to intensive care with serious head injuries.
Detectives are appealing for information as they work to establish how the infant sustained the injuries before being taken to hospital from Currimundi in late April.
Police said the baby was presented to Sunshine Coast University Hospital about 11pm on April 24 and was subsequently admitted to the intensive care unit.
Police have not released details about the nature of his injuries.
Detectives from the Child Protection and Investigation Unit are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident and are trying to determine how the baby was injured.
Police are urging anyone who was in the Currimundi area around the time of the incident, or anyone with information that may assist investigators, to come forward.
