A Sunshine Coast man has been charged after an alleged indecent act at a park in Banya earlier this month.

Police allege the incident occurred about 1.30pm on April 19 at a park on Tyndall Circuit, when two women observed a man conducting an indecent act.

Officers later charged a 41-year-old Banya man with one count of indecent act in any place to which the public are permitted access.

He appeared in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on April 21, where he was remanded in custody.

The man is due to reappear before the court on May 18.

Police have not released any further details about the circumstances of the alleged incident.
