A man has been taken to hospital after a serious crash on the Sunshine Coast.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesperson said the motorcyclist, in his 70s, was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital, in a potentially life-threatening condition, after the incident at Little Mountain in Caloundra.

The crash occurred on Orpheus Court, in a residential area, at about 1.20pm.

The court comes off Stradbroke Drive, which branches off Caloundra Road.

Earlier, paramedics attended an incident in downtown Caloundra.

A person was taken to SCUH, in a stable condition, after falling from a scooter on the corner of Bulcock Street and Bowman Road at about 9am.
