A young girl has been airlifted to hospital after being struck by a vehicle on a beach at K’gari this morning.
Emergency services were called to Orchid Beach near the Rangers Station about 10.50am on Monday, March 16, following reports a vehicle had run over a child on the sand.
A Queensland Police spokesperson said a six-year-old girl suffered serious injuries in the incident.
Paramedics treated the child at the scene before she was flown by helicopter to the Queensland Children’s Hospital in a stable condition with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said investigations into the incident were ongoing.
