A successful Sydney restaurant has been named to open beneath a well-known resort currently undergoing renovations.

Acclaimed restaurateur and chef Alessandro Pavoni will bring Cibaria Noosa to Hastings Street following on from the success of its Manly venue.

Inspired by the vibrant energy of an Italian piazza celebrating Italy’s culinary traditions with a local twist, the venue will open at the Sofitel Noosa Pacific Resort.

The new dining destination will include Bar Capri, which will open directly onto Hastings Street.

The announcement follows the closure of Noosa Beach House Restaurant and Bar on July 28 to coincide with a multimillion-dollar enhancement at the resort, which includes the refurbishment of its 175 guest rooms and suites.

Mr Pavoni said Cibaria Noosa, which will open under his Maestro Hospitality umbrella, will offer a space for all-day dining – from morning espressos to late-night cocktails.

Cibaria Noosa will offer traditional Italian cuisine with a local twist.

“This is a place designed for everybody, every day,” he said.

“Whether it’s a meal with friends, a late-night gelato after your evening stroll or a celebration with family, Cibaria Noosa will bring people together over food, wine and hospitality.

“We’re especially excited about the mix of counter dining and relaxed lounges alongside classic tables.

“The jewel in the crown is the Lily Pond Terrazza – a serene poolside setting within the resort – together with the complete reinvention of the iconic bar that fronts Hastings Street.”

Cibaria Noosa will front Hastings Street.

Head chef Lucas Bach will lead the Cibaria Noosa kitchen, bringing his love for authentic Italian cuisine to every plate.

The menu will feature antipasto, wood-grill and homemade pasta options, plus chef recommendations.

Sofitel Noosa Pacific Resort general manager Mark Wilkinson said the resort was “delighted” to announce the arrival of the restaurant, which will complete the current upgrades.

There will be a mix of counter dining, relaxed lounges and classic tables.

“This resort has always been the jewel of Hastings Street and we’re taking it to the next level,” Mr Wilkinson said.

“We’re refining what people love about Sofitel Noosa – thoughtful styling, intuitive service, and a genuine welcome – while elevating comfort in every detail.”

Cibaria Noosa is expected to open in summer. The resort will remain operational while the renovations continue.
