A Sunshine Coast aged care centre is set to change hands as part of a major acquisition by one of the country’s largest providers.

Rockpool Pelican Waters is among four Rockpool facilities in South-East Queensland included in a $135.5 million deal involving Rockpool Residential Aged Care and Regis Aged Care, with settlement expected in September.

The sale would not impact frontline roles, including nurses, carers and support team members, but a small number of corporate roles will be affected. Residents’ living arrangements would remain unchanged.

The other centres included in the sale are Rockpool Morayfield, Rockpool Carseldine and Rockpool Songbird Oxley.

Rockpool, a Queensland aged care provider, announced the binding agreement last week.

Regis operates 68 aged care homes across Australia and is one of the country’s largest providers.

The aged care centre is in prime position, near the beach and the marina.

Rockpool CEO Melissa Argent said the two organisations shared common values and a vision to change how aged care is delivered.

“I am confident Regis will continue to provide ongoing high levels of care and support for all Rockpool team members, residents and families,” she said.

“Rockpool and Regis are working closely together to ensure a seamless transition of services.

“Despite the challenges our sector has faced over the past few years, Rockpool has continued to construct and operate stunning, state-of-the-art homes.

“This sale highlights the value of what Rockpool has created over the past seven years.

“Construction will continue at Rockpool Northshore Hamilton and commence shortly at Rockpool Kedron.

“Rockpool remains committed to making a long-term, meaningful impact throughout South-East Queensland. This sale will allow us to focus on building even more beautiful aged care homes.”
