Two men have suffered burns in a workplace incident in the Maroochydore city centre.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesperson said the men sustained facial, arms and legs injuries at a site at Future Way and Lightning Lane at 12.33pm.

One of the men was rushed to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a life-threatening condition, while the other was transported to the same hospital in a stable condition.

It’s unclear how they were injured. Queensland Fire Department personnel attended but there was no fire when they arrived.

Meanwhile, a young child was airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries, after a machinery incident at a private property at Amamoor Creek near Gympie on Friday morning.

The LifeFlight Sunshine Coast-based aeromedical crew transported the patient to the Queensland Children’s Hospital.
