Police are appealing for public assistance as part of investigations into an alleged assault at a Sunshine Coast beach.

Investigations indicate that a woman in her 60s was walking along Peregian Beach, near Beach Access 53, at about 9.15am on April 8, when she approached a man and had a brief verbal interaction.

The man than allegedly tackled the woman.

He reportedly ran from the scene and the woman was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The man is described as Caucasian, solid build and in his early 20s.

The man had a dog with him which is described as a male, solid build and grey and black in colour.

Police have released vision of a man who may be able to assist with investigations.

Anyone with information or CCTV of the area is urged to contact police.
