Works are progressing to increase the capacity of the road network around a booming part of the Sunshine Coast.

Night works at the intersection of Aura Boulevard and Graf Drive at Baringa began on Sunday, with construction scheduled to continue between 7pm and 5am until Thursday.

The works are designed to improve traffic flow through and around the Aura Business Park and surrounds.

The upgrades involve the duplication of Aura Boulevard and Graf Drive to four lanes, plus improvements to the intersection itself.

The works will also provide a third access point to Caloundra Road, with Graf Drive to be extended to connect with Racecourse Road in the neighbouring Sunshine Coast Industrial Park at Corbould Park.

Speed limits will be reduced near construction zones, with lane closures also in place. The area will be controlled by police to ensure safety.

Pedestrian access arrangements will be adjusted to complete the works, including a footpath and cycleway diversion on the eastern side of Aura Boulevard to a diversion on Graf Drive.

Aura developer Stockland and civil contractor Shadforth in a press release thanked the community for patience during the works.

“We understand the works around the business park are taking place within a busy traffic network, and we appreciate your patience and understanding,” they said.

“Works will be completed as soon as practical to deliver improved traffic flow.”
