A $5 million recently approved retail centre is set to become a social hub in a growing community.

Construction is expected to begin in March on three inter-connected buildings and a central car park on a 2556sqm site on Mulberry Lane, at the entry to The Avenues precinct, in Nirimba, which is part of Stockland’s Aura development at Caloundra South.

The layout will accommodate a variety of tenants but the complex is expected to attract a mix of health, beauty, retail and lifestyle services.

Developers Peter and Sue Ford said the centre would be a game-changer for the area.

“Receiving approval for this project is such an exciting milestone for the community,” Mr Ford said.

“Our vision is to create a central hub of complementary businesses, including a cafe, retail spaces, allied health services and a health and beauty collective.

“Aura’s rapid growth and thriving community made it the ideal location for a development like this, and we’re proud to contribute to its future.”

Stockland senior development manager Genaea Keith said the new neighbourhood shopping centre would offer more convenience and choice to the community.

“At Stockland, we’re committed to creating thriving and connected communities where residents are close to everything they need,” Ms Keith said.

The new centre is expected to have a mix of health, beauty, retail and lifestyle services.

“The new neighbourhood retail centre is a great addition to Nirimba and the wider Aura community.

“This centre will offer residents convenience and lifestyle right on their doorstep, while generating employment and creating opportunities for local businesses to grow.”

Ford and Folk, a beauty and wellness collective founded by sisters and Aura residents Sarah Milner and Aimee Ford, and Mulberry Lane Cafe, an eatery by the same team who brought Rhythm Espresso to Baringa, are among the first confirmed tenants of the centre.

“Opening Ford and Folk together has been a dream of ours for a long time,” Mrs Milner said.

“We’re creating an inclusive, welcoming space where beauty and wellness professionals can grow their businesses while offering Aura residents easy access to a range of services.”

The centre is expected to be completed late next year.
