A new shopping precinct featuring a supermarket is about to open for business.

Dockside Village, next to the nine-month-old Pelican Waters Marina, is expected to offer a curated selection of goods.

The main attraction is the IGA supermarket W’Gusto, which specialises in hand-selected gourmet foods and a large range of local products.

Other retailers will include Celebrations Liquor and Sushi Ari, as well as DIY Dog Wash, along with other shops and restaurants.

W’Gusto IGA is owned and operated by locals Greg and Lecinda Weiss, who were the driving forces behind the unique development, alongside South-East Queensland developers Flux Property.

Mr Weiss said Dockside Village would be a destination because of its natural setting, community focus and mix of retail offerings.

“The integration of retail, dining and leisure activities against a backdrop of stunning views creates a one-of-a-kind ambience that not many other shopping centres in the area can provide,” he said.

“Additionally, the emphasis on sustainability and community engagement sets the precinct apart, as it not only offers a diverse range of shops and restaurants but also hosts events and activities that foster a sense of belonging among residents and visitors.”

W’Gusto will have a range of items, from gourmet offerings to fresh produce.

Workers put the finishing touches on Dockside Village.

The supermarket will boast an onsite butcher, a salumi bar serving cold meats and meal solutions, coffees, scooped ice cream and a selection of more than 500 types of cheeses from around the world.

With the centre nearing completion, Mr and Ms Weiss have been collaborating and sourcing products from local suppliers, sponsoring local community events and recruiting a team to deliver their unique shopping experience.

“We are excited to bring W’Gusto IGA to Pelican Waters and share our passion for quality, service and community with our neighbours and visitors,” Mr Weiss said.

“Our goal is to make shopping a delightful experience for everyone who walks through our doors.”

Flux Property’s Ben Sutcliffe said Dockside Village was a boutique retail offering in a prime location, with easy access via boardwalk to the marina.

“The site is also fitted with a significant eco-friendly solar system, which we know is important to the community,” he said.

The official opening of the precinct will be held on Wednesday, July 3, at 10am, with a community-orientated fanfare featuring a ribbon cutting, face painting and taste testing from the W’Gusto range.
