Sunshine Coast-based independent, low-cost airline Bonza is seeing an uptick in customers taking advantage of its flights to Townsville to catch the final leg of superstar Pink’s record-breaking tour.

The American singer-songwriter is playing back-to-back concerts on Friday and Saturday at Queensland Country Bank Stadium.

Hundreds of fans from the Sunshine Coast, as well as other regional centres Toowoomba, Rockhampton and the Gold Coast, will fly direct to Townsville to catch the end of the biggest Australian tour ever undertaken by a female artist.

Bonza CEO Tim Jordan said offering low-cost direct flights to North Queensland made it a more affordable and practical travel solution for those in the regions.

“The Pink Link illustrates exactly what Bonza is all about – providing low-cost, direct air travel to regional Australians so that they can enjoy cultural events, see family and friends and experience everything our beautiful backyard has to offer,” he said.

“When we set out to democratise air travel across Australia our objective was to make it available and affordable to all Australians, especially those in the regions.”

Bonza cabin crew have added a splash of colour honouring rock star Pink.

To mark the occasion, Bonza’s cabin crew will temporarily add a touch of pink to their purple uniforms.

“Dare I say that the crew were tickled pink by this fun idea and can’t wait to welcome Pink fans onboard over the coming days,” Mr Jordan said.

Last month Bonza put on an additional flight from the Sunshine Coast to help Taylor Swift fans who faced a transport headache to attend her concert in Melbourne, after a Jetstar flight was cancelled due to an engineering issue.
