A Sunshine Coast real estate agent has been acknowledged with an exceptional international accolade.

Mark Clayton, the co-owner of RE/MAX Hinterland in Maleny, received a RE/MAX Circle of Legends Award, which honours agents who have earned more than $US10 million in gross commissions during at least 10 years of service with the global real estate network.

There have only been five Australian recipients of the award since it was created in 2001, and it has been achieved by less than 1 per cent of all sales associates in the global RE/MAX network, which has a reach of more than 110 countries and territories.

Mr Clayton’s achievement was recognised at the network’s gala annual awards at Sofitel Brisbane on February 22.

He celebrated the occasion and thanked his colleagues.

“Reaching this level is a special, career-milestone achievement,” he said.

“But it belongs not just to me, rather to the entire team here at RE/MAX Hinterland.”

RE/MAX Australia managing director Joel Davoren commended Mr Clayton.

“Successful agents build upon their success year-on-year,” he said.

“The prestigious, highly coveted international career awards convey true mastery.

“Mark is an outstanding individual who has distinguished himself in RE/MAX ranks and the real estate industry itself.

“Circle of Legends is a massive award for massive achievement.”

Founded in 1973, in Denver, Colorado, RE/MAX is recognised as one of the leading real estate franchise companies in the world.

The brand expanded to Australia and New Zealand in 1996.
