A revolutionary telehealth service is set to change the way Sunshine Coast residents access their physical and mental health needs.

It is also set to benefit visitors to the region who may find themselves in need of a doctor while on holidays.

Since launching in 2022, Hola Health has been at the forefront of accessible and affordable healthcare, providing telehealth services within 15 minutes of a patient request, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Co-founder Lenin Rajendran said Hola Health would put less strain on local health services, especially during peak holiday times.

“When Aussies and international visitors holiday on the Sunshine Coast we know they still may need GP support. That’s where Hola Health comes in,” Mr Rajendran said.

“Hola Health GP consults can be accessed anywhere, at any time, no matter where you are.

“There is no need to search for a local GP, and with only a 15-minute wait time, visitors can get their health needs met, fill a prescription and get back to enjoying their holiday.

“The Sunshine Coast is a key focus for us. Through our easy-to-access GP appointments, we can support the network of local GPs with the overflow of visitors who flock to the region in tourist season.

“And it’s not just visitors who will benefit, but also locals who may need a doctor consult outside normal practice hours.”

In October, Hola Health launched mental health services that Mr Rajendran said marked a significant expansion for the company and created at a ‘one-stop-shop’ for the mental and physical health needs of Australians.

The clinical psychology appointments and bulk billed Mental Health Treatment Plan assessments add to Hola Health’s suite of services and give people, especially in regional areas, better access to health care.

“We know that face-to-face psychological services are getting harder to access,” Mr Rajendran said.

“Last year the Australian Psychological Society reported that one in four psychologists were unable to take on new clients, leaving long waiting times between patients seeing their GP and accessing the treatment they need.

“Research also shows that almost 40 per cent of those who needed to see a health professional for mental health reasons delayed treatment or did not seek help due to time or cost.

“No matter your location, schedule, or accessibility needs you should have access to quality healthcare.

“So much of our lives are lived outside of regular business hours and our health services should reflect that.”
