Those with a competitive streak or just looking for a fun social activity can now tee off at the Coast’s newest mini golf offering.

With an 18-hole custom-designed space at a “close knit” golf club on the edge of Noosaville and Doonan, the course is said to be “a hole lot of fun” for all ages.

Noosa Mini Golf recently opened to the public, offering two difficulty levels and a relaxed beer garden with on-site bar.

The course, which includes landscaping and a trickling waterway throughout, is fitted with music speakers and lights, enabling it to hold functions after sundown.

It is set on the grounds of the 36-hole Noosa Hills Par 3 Golf Course, which has been operating for more than 30 years.

Noosa Hills general manager Scott Armstrong told Sunshine Coast News he hoped the mini golf would become and enjoyable space for the whole community to visit.

“It’s got golf in the title, but we see it as spending a period of time with your friends and having fun,” Mr Armstrong said.

“Yes, you are putting a ball, and yes, it is similar, but it’s very different to a golfing experience. You don’t need to know anything about golf to come and have a game.

“We’ve noticed over the first two weeks you’ve got anyone from a couple of young people who might be coming out on their first date to grandparents with their grandchildren to a group of friends getting together a large group to enjoy some golf.”

Mr Armstrong said interest had already been strong for large groups and parties, with Noosa Mini Golf teaming up with a local catering company for those looking to book a function.

“If you book with the group, you can put an order together and (the catering company) bring out the food to the course.

“We just tried it for our friends and family party here a couple of Thursday nights ago and everyone was super impressed.”

He said the current owners took over the course in 2020 and had some “great plans” for Noosa Hills.

“They are very family-oriented themselves and they wanted to bring something to the Coast for families, and that’s what drove the decision to build a mini golf course,” he said.

“They saw an opportunity up this end of the Coast … so they started planning two-and-a-half years ago.

“It’s just about offering something to the local community, whether they’re tourists or local families looking for an outing.

“Hopefully it complements what the Sunshine Coast has to offer. We just want everyone to come down and have a good time.”

Mr Armstrong said the mini golf course was currently open daily from 9am to 6pm.

Bookings are not required, however larger groups of more than 20 people can make inquiries through the website.

Noosa Mini Golf is located at Hollett Road, Noosaville.
