Construction of a long-awaited petrol station and service centre in a fast-growing suburb is underway.

The EG Ampol service station at Baringa will provide Caloundra South residents with a convenient location for fuel, food and essentials.

Located on Aura Boulevard and Farmers Crescent in Baringa, the petrol station and service centre is close to the Aura Business Park and the recently opened Bells Creek Arterial Road extension. It will join KFC and the Sparkletown car wash already open on the site.

Stockland Aura project director Josh Sondergeld said the service station would benefit the community.

“A key priority for Stockland is for our residents to have everyday necessities like schools, shops and transport links within easy reach,” he said.

“This new petrol station and service centre will provide a convenient place for residents to refuel and pick up last-minute essentials, while also creating additional jobs for the community.”

EG Australia spokesperson Leo Pucar said the company was excited to lead the development of the petrol and service centre site at Baringa, with construction to be completed across two stages.

Aura is Australia’s largest masterplanned community.

Stage one will deliver the petrol station and convenience store with an attached Oporto drive-through, while stage two will deliver a proposed standalone Guzman y Gomez Mexican restaurant.

“Our EG locations have set a new standard for quality branded fuel, coffee and food, and we are looking forward to bringing our compelling offer to the residents of Baringa,” he said.

Construction commenced on site earlier this month with the aim to have the EG fuel and convenience store and attached Oporto ready for customers mid-next year.

“It is now fantastic to see this modern and convenient offering take shape and become a reality,” Mr Pucar said.

“We can’t wait to open our doors to our customers as we are really looking forward to serving the community of Aura.”

The service station will be close to the Aura Business Park and Bells Creek Arterial Road.

Aura is Australia’s largest masterplanned community and is currently home to more than 10,000 residents.

On completion, it will have more than 200km of walking paths and cycling veloways, its own Central Park, a 120-hectare regional park and 10 sporting grounds, as well as parks and playgrounds within 400m walking distance of every home. Read more here.
