A masterplanned Sunshine Coast community will unveil its first luxury three-storey display home later this month.
The home, known as Aquila, will officially open to the public on March 28 in Aura’s Display Village.
Designed and built by Thompson Sustainable Homes, the residence reflects how vertical design on narrow lots can maximise space while responding to changing lifestyle expectations.
Built on a 129sqm lot, the home delivers more than 300sqm of total built area, incorporating multiple living zones, private retreats, balconies and alfresco spaces.
Architecturally, the home features a contemporary facade with a layered mix of fibre-cement cladding, rendered finishes, aluminium screening and a Colorbond Klip-Lok roof.
Inside, the home includes hybrid plank flooring in the main living spaces and frameless glass balustrades on balconies to enhance light and views.

The home includes three bedrooms and four bathrooms – including two ensuites – along with several living zones spread across the levels to cater for modern family living.
Sustainability also plays a central role in the design. Passive design principles help support natural airflow and thermal comfort, while a solar panel system and energy-efficient construction are designed to reduce running costs and environmental impact.
Thompson Sustainable Homes said the project was intended to demonstrate how vertical design can respond to the pressures of urban density and smaller lot sizes, which are increasingly common in new masterplanned estates across South-East Queensland.
