A popular Sunshine Coast riverside holiday park is set to be expanded.

Ingenia Holidays Rivershore, on the banks of the Maroochy River at Diddillibah, is set to receive a $12 million extension.

The holiday park operator has announced plans to introduce 80 new accommodation options, increasing the park’s offering to meet growing demand from families, couples and leisure travellers.

The development, which is scheduled to be completed later this year, will include 13 new family safari tents, seven new hideaway tents, four new tiny homes and 56 new ensuite-powered sites.

Guests can also look forward to a new 300sqm pool and a new camp kitchen and barbecue area.

Ingenia Holidays Executive general manager – tourism Matthew Young said the expansion would enhance visitors’ experiences.

“This investment reflects how Australians want to holiday today: outdoors, connected to nature, but without compromising on comfort,” he said.

“Rivershore has long been a standout on the Sunshine Coast, and this development allows us to welcome more guests while continuing to deliver the high-quality experiences the park is known for.”

Ingenia Holidays Rivershore has been a flagship park for Ingenia Holidays since it opened in 2016.

Guests at Rivershore currently have access to spacious riverfront sites, a resort-style swimming pool, family-friendly facilities and the popular Driftwood Restaurant & Bar, which can be accessed by park guests and the local community.

“With its riverside location, premium amenities and extended accommodation offering, Ingenia Holidays Rivershore is well positioned to remain a must-stay destination on the Sunshine Coast,” Mr Young said.

The expansion forms part of Ingenia Holidays’ growth strategy, focused on strengthening its coastal portfolio.
