A confrontation at a Marcoola motel has left a woman injured, with police investigating an alleged assault involving a baton.

The incident followed a heated discussion between two men on Marcoola Esplanade on the afternoon of February 1.

“A 55-year-old Tewantin woman confronted one of the men about that incident around 8pm at a motel on David Low Way, and the man assaulted her with what is believed to be a baton,” a Queensland Police spokesperson told SCN.

A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson said paramedics took the woman, who sustained leg injuries, to Nambour Hospital in a stable condition.

No charges have been laid and investigations are ongoing.
